The Albergo
Il Castello is the ideal base for excursions around Tuscany, since it lies in the
middle of the most important places. The railway connects Certaldo to Florence, Siena and
Pisa. San Gimignano is very near and so is Volterra. Both the cities can be reached by
bus, too.
How to arrive to
Certaldo Alto:
By plane: the airports of Pisa (Galileo
Galilei, connected to the railway) and Florence (Peretola) can be reached with a one-hour
car-ride. By train: Certaldo is situated on the Florence-Siena line. On demand we can pick up guests at either airportor train stations.
By car: Take the highway Florence-Siena and
exit at Poggibonsi Nord, then follow the direction "Empoli". Otherwise take the
highway Florence - Pisa - Livorno, exit at Empoli Ovest and follow the direction
"Siena". By bus: The SITA busses connect Florence to Certaldo.
